Nothing good happens after 2 AM!

After a couple of friends here suggested How I Met Your Mother for me to watch, I downloaded all the seasons and started watching almost immediately. It didn't took me long to finish it since each episode only lasts 20 minutes. Okay, this entry is not meant to be a review of the said TV series/sitcom. I would just like to give you friends a piece of advice or just something to ponder on and help you make a decision in whatever applicable situation you are in.

"NOTHING GOOD HAPPENS AFTER 2 A.M. WHEN 2 A.M ROLLS AROUND JUST GO HOME AND GO TO SLEEP.
WHEN IT'S AFTER 2 A.M JUST GO TO SLEEP BECAUSE THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE AFTER 2 A.M ARE THE WRONG DECISIONS."

I had a lot of unforgettable quotes from HIMYM. Some are just ridiculously funny and some are ridiculously true. The one stated above, happens to be one of the ridiculously true ones. I am not going to say what happened to me last night at that hour but the "nothing good happens after 2 A.M" was true to its word. Yes it was fun at the moment but the feeling after is just not right.

The saying above may not be applicable to all persons and situations but the meaning is there and it's going to be helpful  when the time comes. I'm just sure of it.

Friday Frustrations: Stop Backstabbing Me!

ConversationsWithMoms:Every day Conversations with a Mom Blog

Dear Freeloader,

You have been living with our family for quite a long time. You haven't paid a single cent for any bills, accommodation and for food. So please don't go stabbing me in the back saying that I am selfish for not giving any food money here at home. First off, you are the one with a job. I have none. Meaning, you have the money. And since you are the oldest character here at home with a job I think it is only proper to at least donate something something. If you don't want to then shut up! We're not obligating you to do so but since you know that my Dad passed away and it's only my Mom who is working in the States who is paying ALL (except the phone bill) the darn bills, I think the least that you could do instead of blabbing on to people that I am selfish is to buy things or help out a little financially.

Sincerely,
Someone who doesn't want to think that you are an ingrate

I feel drained and rest I must!

I will take a rest from all my dropping and blog hopping this long weekend. I think I deserve it cos even after dropping 300 EC's everyday, I still continue to visit and read other blogs. I feel a bit drained already. Don't worry though, cos I will still be here on just maybe dropping a lot less but if you are one of those blogs that I never fail to visit and we're friends friends, you'll still me in your inbox. :) That's for sure. Sorry to my other visitors and droppers, I will get back to you after my rest on Monday. I wouldn't last a day without being online especially not now that blogging is my main occupation.

Boys Over Flowers main characters.
The second to the last guy is MINE!!
Yep, the one beside the golden colored hair guy.

For now, I will be watching some Korean TV Series. I am not a huge fan of Korean Series but this one got me hooked after watching 3 episodes with my cousins who are big fans of the original one. I am talking about Boys Over Flowers, the Korean version of the hit Taiwanese Series: Meteor Garden. I was never a fan of the latter so I have no idea how the story goes, all I'm familiar with are the names of the lead characters. After watching a couple episodes of BOF, I must say it was funny, sweet and enjoyable for me plus the other lead guy was cute! I need a good laugh and sweet something to watch and make me forget some worries I have even for just a while. My friends already finished watching this weeks or probably months ago. I'm way behind cos as I've said, I didn't watch the original and I'm not too much into Korean Series either. That's why they were teasing me cos it's only now that I get to say "Jun Pyo is sooooooo cute! I want a boyfriend like that!" and then they'd go "Hello, you're only watching it now? We were done with it a long time ago!" and then they'd laugh. Haha! Whatever! Lol.

P.S.
No food pictures today. :( Apple and I only ate lunch at McDonald's before her job interview, went to Shangri-La and spontaneously decided to watch Drag Me To Hell one minute after entering the mall. Good thing the movie was just about to start. Talk about perfect timing! :) More on that in a couple of days.

Boys Over Flowers mode ON.

Really Late Dinner at Uncle Moe's.

I mentioned yesterday about a food tasting session that I will be attending today. Well, it wasn't like what I have expected. Sure there were lots of food but well, some friends of mine including myself served as food critiques. Some food were great though just a little improvement and all. It wasn't that bad.

But since we only tasted a few of each (they served enough food but we didn't enjoy some of it), we were still hungry afterwards. So we walked a few steps to get into Uncle Moe's for some Shawarma and Beef Kebab. Here's what I had for dinner at 10PM:

Beef Kebab w/ Buttered Rice and Iced Tea.

Too bad tomorrow's dinner date was cancelled. Oh well, Apple and I are still meeting up and that means we are going to eat one way or the other hence, more food pictures (hopefully) tomorrow! :)

Late Afternoon Snack at Oliver's Sandwiches.

I went out with my usual mall buddies and 3 of my closest girlfriends from high school earlier toady for some late afternoon snack-slash-early dinner at Oliver's Sandwiches in Shangri-La Mall. We were all undecided at first on where to eat and we have come up with three different choices: Oliver's Sandwiches, Pepper Lunch, and Pho Hoa, I finally picked one after a couple minutes since I am so craving for a very nice sandwich. Yes, Oliver's Sandwich was the final decision.

Here's what I had: half Hungarian Sausage Sandwich, Ube cake, Cream of Mushroom Soup and Coke Light. It was all for only P199. Money very much well-spent. I was so full and satisfied. :)

Looks like this week would be a week full of eating, well mostly. Today was late afternoon snack, tomorrow would be food tasting for a friend's friend who will be opening his restaurant soon, Thursday we will have dinner with some friends, I'm not very much sure about the weekend though. Fooooooood!! My college degree kicking in! I hope I find a job soon.

More food photos tomorrow. :)

Roger Federer deserved this win!!

I am so psyched about Roger winning. Yes, we are on a first name basis. Although I was a bit disappointed at how Robin Soderling played this match. I'm not so sure he played his A-game but Roger certainly did! He won the match, 3-0. Can you believe that? Three to Love? Soderling scored nothing. He almost caught up on the second and third set though... almost. Roger nailed 16 aces even my brother could not believe it. Oh well, French Open 2009 IS for Roger Federer! He became the sixth man to win all Grand Slam titles! Another one of my all-time favorites, Pete Sampras won his 14th Grand Slam at age 31, Roger is only 27. I guess he'll up Sampras by a little bit more titles in the future.

I guess this one's a bit too fanatic. This guy leaped out of the crowd and ran up to Federer! Crazaay.

Andre Agassi was present at the awarding ceremony and was the one who handed Roger Federer his Championship trophy. I think Agassi was looking great as ever! It was emotional and sweet how tears streamed down Roger's face. We waited long for this win! He may not have won this championship against Nadal but it wasn't his fault, Nadal lost earlier than expected in the tournament. Roger Federer deserved this win! I defended this fact to my brother who kept on saying that it would be a much better match and much deserved win if it was Nadal he defeated. Yes, it might be a better match but it does not necessarily mean that it would be a much deserved win. Nadal lost! Nadal lost against Soderling and now Federer defeated Soderling. It is a very much deserved win! My brother said nothing after that. I know that he knows Federer played amazingly well throughout the tournament. He was even surprised with how many aces Federer nailed during this championship match alone. I guess his pregnant wife brought him moooooooooore inspiration. :)

The Winning Scores:

Federer 6 7 6
Soderling 1 6 4

Can't wait for Wimbledon and US Open!

I'll update later.

French Open 2009 Women's Champion: Kuznetsova

Dinara Safina didn't exactly win in the Finals against Kuznetsova. Okay, okay. And... I was not able to watch the game last night, not really anyway. I don't know. I was stuck here staring at my laptop screen the entire night while watching the Live Score of the game. I'm weird. Based on the scores that I've seen last night, I'm pretty sure Kuznetsova played good (I'm really avoiding saying Safina didn't play as hard). The match only lasted 2 sets with 6-4 6-2. Yeah, I'm okay. Safina could be high-tempered sometimes when she plays and I could imagine her losing focus and all so this was pretty expected.

Now, what I am totally looking forward to is tonight's Men's Finals! I know Federer kind of sucked in clay court and lately he's getting this habit of making the match last until the last set which always almost gives me a heart attack but I am hoping he will win this French Open! The match will start 9PM (Philippine time) / 3PM (Paris Time). This is most likely the highlight of my week and I would stay up, however late it is and sleepy I am, just to watch it. :)
And most importantly, this is going to be the last time (for a while) you'll read about me talking about tennis until Wimbledon starts again. Haha! Exciting!

It's Federer vs. Soderling!!

This entry cannot wait until tomorrow (or rather until I wake up since it's already almost 3AM) because I am just so ecstatic that Federer won against Del Potro tonight! So did, Soderling against Gonzalez earlier.

Hello, Roger Federer vs. Robin Soderling for the Finals!!

Yes Roger! You did it!! Up to the Finals you go and I pray you'll win!

Ooh if you could only see how happy I am right now! Dang Federer kept playing until the last set. Del Potro won the first set, Federer the second, Del Potro the third and finally Federer the fourth and last set. He always makes me nervous! It was such a great game! Now I'm nervous yet excited at the same time for the Finals. I hope Roger wins. I hope Roger wins. I hope Roger wins. Positive vibes. Positive vibes. Positive vibes. Come on guys, send positive vibes! I am just tooooooo joyful about this! :) I really am!

Scores:

*Robin Soderling 6 7 5 4 6
Fernando Gonzalez 3 5 7 6 4

*Roger Federer 3 7 2 6 6
Juan Martin Del Potro 6 6 6 1 4

Tomorrow will be the Women's Finals:

Safina vs. Kuznetsova

And on Sunday will be the Men's Finals.

I guess it's obvious that I am more into the Men's but it's not totally it, it just happened that I have STRONG bets in the Men's compared to the Women's but hey, Safina is one of my bets so I'm also hoping she'll win. I will be extremely happy if Safina and Federer wins this tournament! :)

Just a very quick update:

Women's Singles Quarter Finals result:

Safina won against Cibulkova
Kuznetsova won against Stosur

Finals: Safina vs. Kuznetsova
Rooting for: SAFINA

Men's Singles Quarter finals later:

Soderling vs. Gonzalez
Federer vs. Del Potro

Rooting for: SODERLING and FEDERER

I am still not feeling very well today and my eyes could not take being in front of my laptop screen for a very long time so I would be posting some of my favorite entries here, check them out if you haven't already and please feel free to drop in a comment or two.

CLICK!

There, my past entries that I enjoyed sharing here. Now, to take some meds, some rest while lying down and listening to music and to decide whether or not to go out later tonight. A lot of cons and only one pro but that one pro is a heavy one.

Cons:
Unpredictable weather
I live in a gated subdivision and when it rain, it is absolutely difficult to go out and queue for a cab
Heavy traffic, flood and budgeted budget and basically the top 1 reason why I don't want to go out is because
I AM SICK.

Pros:
This get together is for my friend who's going back to the US next week.

Argh!! I really should get some rest now. I'll think about this later. So far, it's sunny and hot outside that means the only 2 things that are making this hard for is the fact that I am sick and that I have only so much money left to spend for this kind of thing (I already alloted less than P1,000 for this event).

French Open 2009 Semi-Finals Update!

Yay! Federer won against Monfils last night during the Quarter Finals and Del Potro won against Robredo in the other court. It's now down to Federer vs. Del Potro and Soderling vs. Gonzalez in the Semi-Finals and whoever wins will play each other during the Finals. I can't wait! I hope it's Federer against Soderling. It's the next best thing since Soderling defeated the number 1 seed, Nadal. Woot woot! Meanwhile in the Women's Singles, S. Williams lost to Kuznetsova last night and Azarenka lost to Safina in the Quarter Finals so it's Safina vs. Cibulkova and Kuznetsova vs. Stosur in the Semi-Finals. On tonight: Safina vs. Cibulkova.

I may sound all hyped up and perky today but I am actually not. Well I am, about tennis but I am feeling kind of down in the weather. It started late afternoon yesterday, I got this thing that you feel in your throat when you're about to catch a cough and colds and then when I woke up earlier I  feel my head getting heavy and my skin ache when you touch it like it's burning on top of the throat thing. That's the crap that I am feeling right now and I don't like it. The weather here is crazy. I know it's also crazy in the US right now since it's supposed to be summer but it's cloudy, cold and drizzling. Believe me, we here in the Philippines know how you feel. We had typhoon signal in the middle of summer last April. CRAZY. June here is supposed to be the start of the rainy season and I shouldn't be surprised but it's annoying how it would rain cats and dogs for an hour and so and then stop for a couple of minutes and then start raining cats and dogs again. It was literally that hard a rain and there isn't even any typhoon! It's been like this for nearly a week already! Don't get me wrong, I love the bed weather I guess what's bothering me is that I am supposed to go out tomorrow night from some friend's get together before she leaves again for the US and I don't like going out in this kind of weather feeling this kind of crap. I hate!!

What happened to the Top 10 Seeds??

Something weird is happening in the tournament. It is not really weird weird but a sort of an unexpected thing to happen all at once. I am talking about the on-going French Open 2009 or the Roland Garros (yeah, yeah, I've been talking about it for days). Of course I have my own bets slash personal favorites in the game and although most of them don't last until the 4th round or the quarter finals, I'm still okay with it. But this year, it's not just my favorites who are losing but almost the entire top 10 and it's not the losing why I find this weird, the one beating them are those players below the top 10. Wait, aside from it being weird I realized it's also amusing how that happened.

To make my point clear, here's a short list of the players' standings, both in the Men's and Women's Singles and the result of the match:

Murray (4) lost to Gonzalez (12) - Quarter Finals
Davydenko (10) lost to Soderling (23) - Quarter Finals
Nadal (1) lost to Soderling (23) - 4th Round
Roddick (6) lost to Monfils (11) - 4th Round
Simon (7) lost to Hanescu (30) - 3rd Round
Dementieva (4) lost to Stosur (30) - 3rd Round
V. Williams (3) lost to Szavay (29) - 3rd Round
Djokovic (4) lost to Kohlschreiber (29) - 3rd Round

and there are also seeded players who lost to the unseeded ones and higher seeds losing to the lower seeds in the top 10 like:

Jankovic (5) lost to Cirstea - 4th Round
Ivanovic (1) lost to Azarenka (9) - 4th Round
Na Li (25) lost to Sharapova - 4th Round

And the list goes on. You get what I mean. I know this is how every game goes but it's just different this time and that Robin Soderling is good, I tell you. He might just have a shot at the Finals if continue to play this good. That is me also saying that if he goes all the way to the Finals, he will officially be included in my favorites list. :)

Now the only top 10 seeds left and will continue to the next round are:

Men's:
Federer (2) vs. Monfils (11) - Quarter Finals
Del Potro (5) vs. Robredo (16) - Quarter Finals

Women's:
Safin (1) vs. Cibulkova (20) - Semi-Finals
S. Williams (2) vs. Kuznetsova (7) - Quarter Finals

At least 2 of my bets are still on the game, Federer and Safin. I am adding Soderling on my bet and if he goes all the way, he'll be on my favorites.

Federer's game is on later and I am praying he won't try and give his fans heart attacks in anticipation. You know what I mean if you have watched his game with Haas. They played 5 freakin' sets, Set 1 and 2 are already in favor of Haas and each set lasted a little more than an hour! It was that long and good a match but I hope this time Federer would try and win later as fast and as best as he could.
