I am back from the hospital.

Hello again guys!

I am so terribly sorry I haven't updated for ages (well, at least that's how it feels like to me). My last post was about me feeling sick and all and I was planning to go to our doctor for a checkup and I did which was why I had gone missing virtually for about 5 days or so. My intended checkup became an admission to the hospital, The Medical City, because of asthma and pneumonia. My doctor didn't let me go home. I was so scared and I almost cried because I was there alone. I had no one with me. And it was my first time to get admitted without my parents beside me. I am scared of needles! And I need someone to hold my hand whenever they had to test my blood or put the dextrose in. I had no one. I immediately called up my Mom who is in LA and woke her up just to tell her that I will get admitted and that our doctor wanted to talk to her to explain my "condition". Well, she agreed.

I got admitted late in the afternoon. There was a crowd in the Emergency Room. A lot of patients complaining about different kinds of illnesses. I was made to wait in the Observatory Room (or something like that) while waiting for a room to go available. I tell you, it was like I was in a hotel in its peak season! Every room was "fully-occupied"! There were 8 patients inside the room including me and then a lot more waiting outside the hall on their wheelchairs. That was how many patients there were. So anyway, my cousin arrived just in time for my dextrose insertion.

Okay, there it is. I had one "tube" but there's actually another one inserted. One dextrose and antibiotic. I honestly felt my heart stopped beating for a millisecond when the nurse inserted it. Seriously. I AM that scared of needles.

I got a room at around 10PM already. Yes, I waited for more than 4 hours. This photo above was taken the next morning by my friend, Anna who visited me along with her boyfriend Ace and my other good friend was also there. I am not sure but I look thinner than usual in this photo plus my hair look shorter too.

I was admitted because of pneumonia and asthma by the way. My doctor said she had to admit me to prevent it from progressing plus they had to swab me for H1N1 too just in case. Don't worry, I tested NEGATIVE. I knew it. She said it was just for precaution. So for 2 nights I stayed in isolation and then I transferred after they got the result of the swab.

Thank you for the well wishes and the continued visit in my blog. Rest assured I will be catching up since I'm on house arrest for at least a week. :D

I will be posting and talking about hospital food tomorrow. I have to cut this entry into 2 0r 3 parts cos it's too long.

Hugs.

French Open 2009 Semi-Finals Update!

Yay! Federer won against Monfils last night during the Quarter Finals and Del Potro won against Robredo in the other court. It's now down to Federer vs. Del Potro and Soderling vs. Gonzalez in the Semi-Finals and whoever wins will play each other during the Finals. I can't wait! I hope it's Federer against Soderling. It's the next best thing since Soderling defeated the number 1 seed, Nadal. Woot woot! Meanwhile in the Women's Singles, S. Williams lost to Kuznetsova last night and Azarenka lost to Safina in the Quarter Finals so it's Safina vs. Cibulkova and Kuznetsova vs. Stosur in the Semi-Finals. On tonight: Safina vs. Cibulkova.

I may sound all hyped up and perky today but I am actually not. Well I am, about tennis but I am feeling kind of down in the weather. It started late afternoon yesterday, I got this thing that you feel in your throat when you're about to catch a cough and colds and then when I woke up earlier I  feel my head getting heavy and my skin ache when you touch it like it's burning on top of the throat thing. That's the crap that I am feeling right now and I don't like it. The weather here is crazy. I know it's also crazy in the US right now since it's supposed to be summer but it's cloudy, cold and drizzling. Believe me, we here in the Philippines know how you feel. We had typhoon signal in the middle of summer last April. CRAZY. June here is supposed to be the start of the rainy season and I shouldn't be surprised but it's annoying how it would rain cats and dogs for an hour and so and then stop for a couple of minutes and then start raining cats and dogs again. It was literally that hard a rain and there isn't even any typhoon! It's been like this for nearly a week already! Don't get me wrong, I love the bed weather I guess what's bothering me is that I am supposed to go out tomorrow night from some friend's get together before she leaves again for the US and I don't like going out in this kind of weather feeling this kind of crap. I hate!!

Nape Ache and Eye Strain.

As much as I would want to share with you guys how my job hunting went and how I spent my day today I would have to postpone it some other time. My nape is seriously aching and so are my eyes. I have been advised to rest my eyes especially from staying in front of my laptop the entire day. I would get back to you once I feel better which is hopefully tomorrow or some day within this week.

I have to rest if I want to be fit for a job this month or next.

See you all soon.
I'd probably make a quick post tomorrow anyway. :)

Hugs!

A handful of medicines!

As what I've posted yesterday, I went to the doctor for a check-up and since I'm seriously down with the weather these past couple of weeks, my doctor--Dra. Garcia prescribed 5 medicines for me to take every day for 2 weeks or so.

Since I'm still jobless and the finances here at home are  divided between me and my mom and I'm only getting my allowance from my Kuya (my older brother), I asked him to give me some moolah for me to buy my medicines. He said he couldn't give me anything until payday and because I terribly need to take my "drugs", I borrowed money from my mom and she bought me the meds a while ago.

above left-right: my Medical City cup with Fluimucil, my Flixotide nasal spray and my prescription.
lower left-right: Nastravox, Claricort, Prednisone and Fluimucil.

That's not even ALL of it. I mean, I'm supposed to have 21 Fluimucil, 2 Flixotide, 21 Nastravox, 28 Prednisone and 21 Claricort. I'm gonna buy 'em all when my Kuya gives me the money for it. This "incomplete" batch costs more than 2k already. Wow. I hate getting this sick.

I have another doctor's appointment next week for my Flu and Pneumonia vaccine shots.
I hate injections! My brother joked that the stretcher, ammonia and oxygen should be prepped already. Funny.

Wish me luck!

Hello, Acute Asthma, Sore Throat & Allergic Rhinitis!

I haven't been posting again but it's not because my week was boring or something close to that, on the contrary last week went good especially the Friday-Sunday part. Good meaning I got out of the house plus I was in the gym Tuesday and Thursday. So, last week was not boring BUT it's a little bad cos I was and still am not feeling well. I started feeling a little down with the weather a week before the concert but it comes and goes so I didn't really pay it any mind until last week when it got worse.

First, my allergic rhinitis is betraying me again.
Second, allergic rhinitis + clogged nose = headache.
Third, I'm having a hard time swallowing cos my throat hurts (for about 6 days now).
Fourth, chest pains = difficulty breathing.
And fifth, first to fourth combined I'm having a hard time talking/speaking for more than a minute straight.

All of that symptoms I have that I mentioned, I have been getting them for almost a month now that's why I decided to go the doctor earlier today just like what my Dad would've liked if he's still here.

After more than 2 hours of waiting for Dra. Garcia to arrive, here's what I got: a prescription for 5 freakin' meds that I need to take every single day after every single meal. Okay, make that 4 meds since the other one listed is my nasal spray.
Sorry for the crappy pic. I don't really intend it for everyone to see every meds I got. Oh by the way, the fifth med is at the back of the prescription pad. :)

I think I'm gonna rest now cos even typing makes me catch my breath more than usual.
I hope this goes away soon!
