Music Monday: Coldplay - Paradise

From Coldplay's latest album, Mylo Xyloto, this song has this relaxing and soothing vibe to it which aside from the artist makes me love this song even more.

It makes me imagine myself in a more less-stressful place. :)

I love Coldplay. I love their music. I love their songs. And now, I love Paradise even more because it was played during the Championship ceremony at the recently concluded ATP World Tour Finals™ when the 6 time ATP champion, Roger Federer, was being awarded his championship trophy. <3

"This could be para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
This could be para-para-paradise
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh"

Now, every time I hear Paradise, I see Roger lifting his huge trophy up.

At A Loss For Words

For the 3rd consecutive Sunday, Roger was up against Jo and like the previous Sundays, he won.

Roger Federer won his 6th straight ATP World Tour Finals™ title, won his 807th wins, won his 100th finals, won his 70th title.

I am at a loss for words right now.

Please check out OnCourtAd and The Federer Blog.

I have so much to say but my mind's too overwhelmed with joy and excitement about his ATP win.

Blog post to follow soon! :)

Roger Federer's On-Court Interview

If you are a follower of mine on Twitter, then you've probably read a lot of tennis in the past weeks or so following the ATP World Tour.

But since I can't contain my excitement and joy over my favorite player's record breaking titles and well... records, I will bring these feelings to my blog and share it with more people other than my friends and Twitter followers.

I believe by now even my blog readers know how much of a tennis and Roger Federer fan I am. I am proud to be on #TeamFederer!

ATP World Tour Finals started last Sunday, November 20 and I didn't miss a 1st game match (10pm MLA time), more so a Roger Federer match even when it was second game match at 4am. Last night was the first game I missed and it's a Semi-Final match. How great was that? I got caught up with friends and just followed tweet updates about the ongoing semis between Federer and Ferrer.

Of course, Roger won and he is now on his 100th ATP Finals and hopefully 70th ATP Finals win!!!

Here's his on-court interview after defeating David Ferrer to advance to his 100th finals with 7-5 6-3:

A huge thank you to FedererNews for sharing this link and to kissakiss for the video upload.

Follow me on Twitter if you want to exchange tennis-related tweets or just about anything. :)

The Swiss Maestro's First Paris-Bercy Title!

If you have been following my blog since the start, you would know that I am an avid fan of tennis and my all-time favorite player is the Swiss maestro, Roger Federer.

After the 4 Grand Slams which caused me heartbreak seeing him lose each time, I didn't lose hope that he'd be back with grace and win some more titles. I wasn't wrong.

Even though he slipped down 1 notch in the World Rankings, I believe this year hasn't been all that bad for the former World No.1, current World No. 4 and 16 Grand Slam winner.

Roger Federer...
- won his 800th career win which makes him the 7th player to earn it
- won his first ever Paris-Bercy title
- won his 18th Masters title, now 1 win away from the current top on the list, Rafael Nadal
- won his 69th title

Not bad, eh?

Your fans are so happy and so proud of this win, Roger!!!

After the BNP Paribas Masters is the World Tour Finals in London next week.
Looking forward to it!!

Roger Federer is Australian Open's CHAMPION... again!

After losing his winning streak to Rafael Nadal in last year's Australian Open, World Number 1 and my personal number 1 favorite, Roger Federer got back his AO title winning against Andy Murray in 3 straight sets. Not that Murray didn't give him a good a match especially during the last set where they played 13-11 tie break. It was an intense match but I had no doubt Roger will win it!

World Number 1. Roger Federer giving his Australian Open Championship Trophy a kiss on the cheek. :)

I am so happy I am just satisfying myself by thinking I am the trophy that Roger is kissing. :P

Sorry for not updating my blog about the tournament. This is a first but I was always updating via my twitter. If you are not following me yet, follow me at: HTTP://WWW.TWITTER.COM/MaraDeGuzman :) for more updates about my interesting day to day life, quotations, random things, and other updates.

You are still MY NUMBER 1.

Yes, I am so upset by this major upset in the US Open last Monday. I stayed up from 4AM to 8AM knowing that my love, Roger Federer would win in the Finals and do a 6-peat. Unfortunately, during the 3rd set I sort of had a feeling that he's losing his momentum and he was definitely annoyed with del Potro's late challenges. It was like the first time I saw him like that. He was saying the "F" and the "S" word although he says it "calmly", the irritation was very obvious. Sigh. I was really hoping he'd win. This del Potro guy surely is making his way to the Grand Slams. I won't deny that he did play good. He may have had his "tantrums" during the match but he was good. BUT I still believe Federer could have won then. It was a close match after all.

So yes, that's why I only posted about the US Open Finals just now. I am still stunned. If it's the other way around, I would have updated this blog like I do with Twitter. LOL.

YOU ARE STILL MY NUMBER 1.

World Number One, my favorite, Roger Federer holding up his 2nd place plaque for the US Open.

He will regain his championship in the US Open next year. He better! ;) In the meantime, he still has time to practice his game in the next tournaments in time for the next grand slam event, the Australian Open '10. Woot woot!

Roger Federer is back to being World Number 1!

Woot woot! He did it! Roger Federer won the Wimbledon title against Andy Roddick and now he's back to World Number 1 in the rankings!

The match was crazy! It was an epic! And I still cannot remove the smile off my face. It was one of those matches that I'd be so proud to say "Hey! I've watched that!" because it definitely is a record breaking Finals. I got tears on my eyes, I cannot stop clapping and cheering and I have this genuine smile that I cannot seem to wipe off.

It was a very long match between my two favorites with 5 sets, 5-7 7-6 7-6 3-6 16-14. Andy Roddick was AMAZING! If he wasn't playing against Roger he's definitely my bet. Remember, he's one of my favorites too. He improved A LOT! And I think he should get credit for it especially with the way he played earlier. He was good but not good enough to defeat Roger. Although I was feeling all glorious, I feel for Andy. It was obvious how he was holding back tears. Major effort! His time will come! Just keep playing the way he's playing now (or improve), he will definitely see his name on the wall with Sampras and Borg and all the other great tennis players.

Tonight is all about Roger Federer! And a little bit of Gavin Rossdale too. He was looking so hot in the box watching. I wonder where Gwen Stefani is. Anyway, I am off to bed now because I still have an interview to attend to in a few hours and I have to wait for the "guy's" call before I'll be able to go to "sleep". You know. He went out and I'm stuck at home which is also good cos I was able to watch the Finals. Oh what a happy happy night! 2:25 AM already here, the guy would probably call before 6 AM, interview schedule at 9 AM, I have to leave the house before 8 AM (Monday rush), eat breakfast, take a bath and get dressed, I obviously need to stretch the hourssssssssss! Looks like I'll be getting no sleep and would look like a zombie tomorrow. So much for an impression. I just have to impress them with my answers, I guess. LOL.

Thank you to Mommy Maria for wishing me luck for my interview!

I'll update you guys in the morning.
Hugs!

Roger Federer deserved this win!!

I am so psyched about Roger winning. Yes, we are on a first name basis. Although I was a bit disappointed at how Robin Soderling played this match. I'm not so sure he played his A-game but Roger certainly did! He won the match, 3-0. Can you believe that? Three to Love? Soderling scored nothing. He almost caught up on the second and third set though... almost. Roger nailed 16 aces even my brother could not believe it. Oh well, French Open 2009 IS for Roger Federer! He became the sixth man to win all Grand Slam titles! Another one of my all-time favorites, Pete Sampras won his 14th Grand Slam at age 31, Roger is only 27. I guess he'll up Sampras by a little bit more titles in the future.

I guess this one's a bit too fanatic. This guy leaped out of the crowd and ran up to Federer! Crazaay.

Roger Federer was emotional after winning his first Roland Garros and his 14th Grand Slam Title. Man, you are the best!

Andre Agassi was present at the awarding ceremony and was the one who handed Roger Federer his Championship trophy. I think Agassi was looking great as ever! It was emotional and sweet how tears streamed down Roger's face. We waited long for this win! He may not have won this championship against Nadal but it wasn't his fault, Nadal lost earlier than expected in the tournament. Roger Federer deserved this win! I defended this fact to my brother who kept on saying that it would be a much better match and much deserved win if it was Nadal he defeated. Yes, it might be a better match but it does not necessarily mean that it would be a much deserved win. Nadal lost! Nadal lost against Soderling and now Federer defeated Soderling. It is a very much deserved win! My brother said nothing after that. I know that he knows Federer played amazingly well throughout the tournament. He was even surprised with how many aces Federer nailed during this championship match alone. I guess his pregnant wife brought him moooooooooore inspiration. :)

The Winning Scores:

Federer 6 7 6
Soderling 1 6 4

Can't wait for Wimbledon and US Open!

It's Federer vs. Soderling!!

This entry cannot wait until tomorrow (or rather until I wake up since it's already almost 3AM) because I am just so ecstatic that Federer won against Del Potro tonight! So did, Soderling against Gonzalez earlier.

Hello, Roger Federer vs. Robin Soderling for the Finals!!

Yes Roger! You did it!! Up to the Finals you go and I pray you'll win!

Ooh if you could only see how happy I am right now! Dang Federer kept playing until the last set. Del Potro won the first set, Federer the second, Del Potro the third and finally Federer the fourth and last set. He always makes me nervous! It was such a great game! Now I'm nervous yet excited at the same time for the Finals. I hope Roger wins. I hope Roger wins. I hope Roger wins. Positive vibes. Positive vibes. Positive vibes. Come on guys, send positive vibes! I am just tooooooo joyful about this! :) I really am!

Scores:

*Robin Soderling 6 7 5 4 6
Fernando Gonzalez 3 5 7 6 4

*Roger Federer 3 7 2 6 6
Juan Martin Del Potro 6 6 6 1 4

Tomorrow will be the Women's Finals:

Safina vs. Kuznetsova

And on Sunday will be the Men's Finals.

I guess it's obvious that I am more into the Men's but it's not totally it, it just happened that I have STRONG bets in the Men's compared to the Women's but hey, Safina is one of my bets so I'm also hoping she'll win. I will be extremely happy if Safina and Federer wins this tournament! :)

I'm still betting on Federer!

French Open 2009 started last May 24. I had no idea that it did until I had a feeling that it has been way long since Australian Open, I checked the website last night and there, my new guy Giles Simon's match just ended. Ugh! Good thing he won though, means I'd still get to see him play on 3rd round.

I was able to watch Maria Sharapova's last set, man she almost lost!

My bet in the Men's Singles would still be Roger Federer, I'm rooting for Andreas Beck, Gilles Simon and Andy Roddick to finish until 4th. Please. I am not scratching out Rafael Nadal. I know he's good especially on clay court but whatever, I'm Federer all the way. :)

And speaking of Roger Federer, I am currently watching his match against Jose Acasuso. That's why I am making this entry a bit quick and short. I am so preoccupied watching, cheering and doing some serious dropping of ECs.

Today's Day 5 and the French Open would end on June 7.
If you want more details visit Roland Garros.

First set just ended and it lasted more than an hour. How great of a match is this and it's not even semis yet. I am so excited! Federer won the first set and looks like this is going to be a very long match.

I'm gonna go watch now. See you folks later! I still have some stories about how my day went today. :)

Australian Open 2009

This is one of the biggest reason why I haven't been on for a while. I have been pre-occupied with watching tennis that I barely go online except to check Jobstreet, my mail and my Facebook account.

I was rooting and cheering for Roger Federer, the number 2 seed, to win the AO and although I admit that Rafael Nadal, the number 1 seed, is really good I still had my hopes for Roger to be the World's number 1 again. Unfortunately though, after 5 sets Rafael Nadal won with 7-5, 3-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-2. It was a good match they've played but it's just too bad Roger lost. I really thought he'll be able to pull it off like the match he had with Tomas Berdych during the Round 4 of the tournament. Berdych had the first 2 sets in his advantage but third-fifth sets were Federer's. That match made so exhausted and tensed while watching.

Up next would be the Roland Garros and even though my brother is for Federer too, he said he'll have more of a hard time winning there but he's still my bet. Roger all the way!

On a related topic, while watching the tournament I saw some pretty promising players. And by promising I mean both good-looking and great-players-that-need-a-little-more-practice guys. One of them is Gilles Simon, world's number 6 seed. Right on top of Andy Roddick. Anyway, Gilles Simon made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament against Nadal. Obviously, he lost the match. Still, he became one of my new eye-candies.

Here's a picture of him I got over the internet. Oh, how I love the world wide web! ;)

Gilles Simon [6]

He looks oh so.......hmmmm...especially when he plays. I hope to see more of him in the next tournaments: Roland Garros, US Open and Wimbledon. He looks really promising and I bet he could still improve especially his temper. So, enough tennis talk for me already. I've been to glued to it for 14 days already.

I am now going to concentrate on my personal health and with that being said, I'll be going to bed already cos I have to wake up at 4:30 AM and go jogging. :) I have several things planned for tomorrow. For now, sleep is essential. I'll update you again guys on how my past days have been while I was "absent" here. One at a time. One at a time. I still have a lot of catching up to do. :)

So, I'll see you all again tomorrow!!

By the way, if you want to see more news about the Australian Open 2009 you can visit their site at by clicking HERE. It's the official website so you can get to read the list of players and their rankings, previous matches and scores and several AO news.
