Her first day.

As I've mentioned in my earlier entry, my friend already arrived yesterday at 4 AM. My 2 friends and I who are going to pick her up and her brother at the airport were late by an hour cos their flight weren't supposed to arrive until 5:05 AM. PAL schedules are either super early or super late. Never on time.

We weren't that late, we arrived before 6 AM at the airport. Went straight to their house in QC to dislodge their luggage and pick up their parents. Kuya Paul drove their car with their parents and Kat rode with us. We had breakfast at Pancake House in Metrowalk. It was a good 1 and a half drive because of the super heavy traffic yesterday.

We were all starving when we got there  and we all ordered Beef Tapa except for Kat's mom who ordered Omelette instead. After about an hour of eating, we went our separate ways. Us 4 headed to Apple's dorm to pass an hour of waiting for the opening of the malls.

10 AM we headed on to Megamall to buy leggings. Only the two Katrinas bought cos as much as I want to, I don't really have the budget to buy anything (except for food) at the moment.
Then we went to Shangri-La to watch The Day The Earth Stood Still at 12:20 PM screening. I'm going to write a review about that movie later.

Ate soup and some dimsum at Mongkok after. The service yesterday there sucked bigtime! We were all irritated because first, 2 of us (Abs and Apol) didn't really get enough decent sleep and 2 of us (Kat and I) didn't sleep AT ALL, second, we only asked for house water and we asked for it more than 3 times before they served it to us, third, Apol ordered Buchi, we waited for more than 15 minutes and we followed it up after that only to find out that we have to wait for another 15-20 minutes because they just cooked it so cancelled it and asked for the bill instead. We waited another 5 minutes for the bill to arrive. Annoyed, irritated and pissed we paid the exact amount and didn't leave them any tip! Here's the greatest part of all, there weren't even that many guests eating! There were only about 3-4 other tables occupied with only 3-5 persons sitting. How great a service is that?

Moving on, we strolled around for a couple of minutes before deciding to retire. Our group driver, drove us all home. Kat first, me second and Apol third. Heavy traffic as usual. Thank you big time Abs!

When I got home at around 6 PM, I just ate a bowl of Cheerios, brushed my teeth, changed my clothes and hit the sack already. I slept for a good 14-15 hours! I was so sleepy and tired that I didn't even have the energy to accompany my mom to her nail spa appointment earlier today at 10 AM.

I have a couple of things to blog about today so I'll get started with the others.

See you!

Before I leave...

I just want to make a quick post about this:

My 2 girl friends and I are going to pick up Kat, our dear friend, from the airport in a couple of minutes. We haven't seen her for a year! Or was it two? But anyways, we're excited to have her back this Christmas season.

My friends are supposed to pick me up anytime soon. I stayed up the whole night! Not because I'm too excited or anything, I just don't think I'd be able to get up this early and have time to take a shower PLUS the weather is crazy. It's raining so hard and that would most probably make me too lazy to open my eyes if I slept.

Hello, zombie.

Would update later when I get back home.

Bye!

Transporter 3.

I wonder when Transporter 3 would be shown here in the Philippines.

I have been waiting for this for months now and it's already been shown in the U.S. last November 26.

I hope it won't be next year since Metro Manila Film Festival is just around the corner. Only Filipino Movies would be shown in the theaters starting Christmas Day, December 25 until probably the second week of January 2009.

Anyway, here's the trailer of Transporter 3 I got from YouTube.

Yummy Cupcakes!

I have been bugging a friend of mine to give me free samples of her homemade cupcakes for a while now. I have been bugging her even before she started her own business. Yeah, that long.

I was so happy when she finally gave me a half dozen of 3 different cupcakes: Red Velvet, Peanut Butter and Tequila Rose something. I'm not really sure about the names but it's something in those lines. She gave me these:

about 2 weeks ago when she came and picked me up for the Grand Alumni Homecoming. I was thrilled! It looks so yummy in the pictures I saw in her website and I couldn't wait to let my taste buds savor it.

I wasn't disappointed. I finished 6 cupcakes in less than week all by myself! I know, I know, it's a total violation of my current diet rules but they were so yummy I couldn't help it. I love the cupcake with the Tequila Rose (it's the one w/ the pink frost) and this one that she gave me last Friday:

I'm pretty sure she said this one has Kahlua in it. It was so moist and chewy, just the way I like! Kinda like brownies but more delectable maybe because of the icing on top. I don't know but I'm actually eating one right now while I'm typing this entry.

I only have 1 left in my box cos my mom ate one the other night. Btw, my friend gave me another half dozen of the Kahlua cupcake. I just took one lousy photo of it (and I edited it just now) and hurried eating my first piece when I got home that night. I love it!

Thanks for the cupcakes, Karen! :)

Don't forget my "pasalubong" from Cebu, okay?

Hello, Christmas '08!

Honestly, I am not totally feeling the Christmas season this year. Well, I have been feeling like this since last year so this is nothing new.

But I've made quite an achievement and stepped out of my little miserable bubble and decided to make a wish list for this season. Wish list that I want to buy for myself, not necessarily wish list that I want others to give me as presents. If you decided to get me one, don't worry, I'd still take it and thank you for it! :) Hello, I LOVE LOVE receiving gifts!

Here's the first part of my very RANDOM and SIMPLE list---some items have links, click 'em:

1. Undies Set - here are some examples: 1, 2, and 3
7. A new iPod - Nano, Touch or Classic
10. Bath and Body Works' Green Tea & Cucumber and/or Enchanted Orchid
13. Original DVDs - of: Murder by Numbers, The Sound of Music, Wanted, House Seasons 1-4, Sixteen Candles, Ten Things I Hate About You, Clueless, Entourage Seasons 1-4, P.S. I Love You, etc.
14. Books - Nicholas Sparks' Nights in Rodanthe, Paulo Coelho's Brida and The Witch of Portobello, Cecelia Ahern's There's No Place Like Here, Sophie Kinsella's Remember Me?, John Grisham's The Associate (2009), etc.
16. Photo Albums / Picture Frames
17. CD / DVD Rack
18. Micro-fiber Pillow
19. Queen Sized Bed Sheets
20. Havaianas 37/38
21. Chocolates and Ruffles :)
22. MONEY TO BUY ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED.

See how simple my Christmas Shopping/Wish List is? They're hardly caprices.  I have a second list but those would probably be counted on next year's instead. I'm sure of it. The second half's a little bit pricier than these things I've listed here.

So, if any of you my dear friends want to give me something for Christmas you can pick any of the above mentioned to spare you the time thinking what to get me.

Hmmmm. But I doubt I'll be receiving Christmas presents anyway. I haven't received any since last year so I'm not getting my hopes high this year either. I'd probably end up buying all these myself. Paawa, but seriously. I'd probably cry or at least get teary-eyed when someone gives me any present.

Shout out to my Ates, my Kuyas, my not-so-little brother and my friendships!!!! :)

This is about the only time of the year I ask for this kind of presents. Please please please!

Give love on Christmas day and every day of the year! :)

Ehem!

Love you all!

Btw, here's a link of a contest I've joined. If you want, you could take a look and see what it's about.

I wish I'm Kristen Stewart in this photo.
My current eye-candy is looking so hot here.
Hold me like that!

Stop. Stop. Stop.
My heart's beating fast again.

Manny stands tall! Filipino pride!

Congratulations! You make us proud!
Now, go home and shower us with half the amount that you've won.
Hahaha! Kidding!

Seriously, Manny Pacquiao makes us Filipinos proud to be one every time he wins! It's like magic how the streets of the city turns out to be a ghost town whenever he's having a fight. The streets are quiet and what you would most likely hear are the cheers and screams of the people inside their homes, offices, restaurants, cinemas, stores etc. rooting for Pacman to win!

It's crazy.

I love you Oscar de la Hoya, you're such a pretty boy but I'm team Pacman all the way!

So, who's gonna be the next one to challenge our man? Hahaha!

Daydreaming!

This is going to be embarrassing.

I am posting another entry in this ungodly hour of almost 1 AM because I can't sleep. I want to but my heart is racing so fast that I can't really focus on getting an eye-shut.

I know it's been over a week since the Twilight movie hype and  I wasn't included in those people who doesn't seem to shut up about it. Really. I didn't even liked the actors.

That's why this emotions (eeww, emotions?!) come as a surprise to me. I guess this, what I'm feeling right now, is what you call a "delayed reaction" over what I've watched. And it's not the movie that's causing me a hard time sleeping tonight. It's darn Robert Pattinson. Ugh! Don't laugh. Don't smirk.

I didn't find him cute or even appealing at first cos his makeup in the movie looked like shiz and every time I catch him in cable doing interviews he looks awful. But lo and behold, as I was browsing through the wonders of internet I chanced upon his photos and he looks darn hooooooott. I'm a sucker for "bad guys" with strong masculine facial features plus a killer smile. Boy does he have all of those. Whew!

I think it also adds up to my imagination of Edward's (based from the book) characteristics and personality. I think the personality factor is the huge part why I'm loving him right now. Love!

Tell me, who could resist this? Isn't he charming? Look at him! Look at him! I can't even take the silly smile off my face while I'm typing this and looking at his pictures.

I'm at a loss for words! He's climbing up the ladder of my eye-candies and he hasn't even been in the scene for long. Just look at him! I like him better without those facial hair that I've seen him sporting during an interview in HBO. How I wish I could get a picture taken with him. Like that would happen! Hello, Philippines. We are a thousand miles apart!

Wish me luck in trying to sleep and when I do, I hope I dream of him. And I wouldn't be ashamed of it. Hahaha!

Silly silly thoughts.

Okay, this is driving me crazyyyy!

I'ma stop now.

Songs for the day!

It had been an extremely slow day for me today. I've slept almost half the day and aside from my dentist appointment earlier, I only spent the rest of the day multi-tasking: playing songs from my iTunes, posting reviews at CIAO and updating my blog, all while "watching" TV.

One song is currently (as in while I'm typing these first few lines) stuck in my head:

Relapse - Jesse McCartney

Every time I leave, every time I leave
I keep coming back every time I leave!

It's weird cos I'm listening to Twilight Soundtrack and I'm still singing that line of the song.

Oh, I wanna share my favorite Twilight song from Muse. It's called Supermassive Black Hole. It's a catchy song and it's really good.

Oh baby dont you know I suffer?
Oh baby can you hear me moan?
You caught me under false pretenses
How long before you let me go?

Those are the lines that keep playing in my head aside from Relapse. Actually, I got a couple of songs stuck in my head this week. I keep singing them alternately without no intentions of doing so. Involuntary in other words.

Here are some of 'em:

Love Remains The Same - Gavin Rossdale

I never thought that I had any more to give,
Pushing me so far here I am without you.
Drink, to all that we have lost,
Mistakes we have made,
Everything will change but love remains the same.

If I Were A Boy - Beyonce

Drink beer with the guys and chase after girls,
I'd kick it with who I wanted and I'd never get confronted for it
Cos they'd stick up for me.
If I were a boy, I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I'd swear I'd be a better man.

SuperHuman - Chris Brown feat. Keri Hilson

I have been crying and crying for weeks
How'd I survive when I could barely speak,
barely eat, on my knees.
But that's the moment that you came to me,
I don't know what your love has done to me.
Think I'm invincible I see, through the me I used to be.

Whatever You Like - T.I.

Stacks on deck
Patron on ice
And we can pop bottles all night
Baby you can have whatever you like
I said you can have whatever you like.

Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis / Jesse McCartney / Boyce Avenue

Closed off from love I didn't need the pain,
Once or twice was enough and it was all in vain.
Time starts to pass before you know it you're frozen.
But something happened with the very first time with you,
My heart melted to the ground found something true,
And everyone's looking 'round thinking I'm going crazy.

What do you think? Bleeding Love has a lot of versions and I think I have all of it except for the Tagalog version. It's just so irritating to listen to.

Anyway, hope you "enjoyed" my songs for the day. Or rather for the week. I've been singing these songs for days now. They just keep popping out of my head and before I know it, I'm starting to sing them all like I'm doing a medley cos I don't exactly sing the entire song, just these lines that I've posted here.

I'll try to change tracks next week and will let you know! :)

Four Christmases!

The #1 movie in America this week, kicking off Twilight, High School Musical 3 and Bolt.

I watched this movie yesterday at Powerplant and it was good. Really funny. I find the problem and the resolution quite a bit hurried though. The movie was just an hour and a half long and most of the scenes didn't actually introduce the would-be-problem.

Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn were cute as a couple. I'll give them that. They're characters were funny and entertaining.

There were no dull or boring scenes, there was however a vibe of rushing the movie to end. The conflict didn't even last 15 minutes! Other movies usually have the last 30 minutes trying to resolve the conflict but not Four Christmases. After just a couple of minutes their differences were patched up with no flashbacks, playbacks or whatever it is that made them realize whatever they've realized.

All in all, the movie is okay. Enjoyable and entertaining.

Go watch! :)

I'm still alive.

1 down. 1 to go. I can't wait for it to be done already! I'm not excited about the whole needle thing, I'm just looking forward to be vaccine-free for another year.

The photo above is for my Inlfuenza Vaccine (Vaxigrip). I had my shot last night and I was seriously pale when I entered my doctor's room. She even asked me if I'm feeling okay cos my lips were white! I am that scared of needles.

I was supposed to have 2 shots but I don't think I could take that much. My Pneumonia Vaccine would have to wait until I don't feel the needle in my skin and muscles anymore which would probably take weeks. I could still feel the vaccine shot in my left arm. Hate it!

Wish me more tolerance next time!

TWILIGHT. AGAIN.

I have watched Twilight for the second time yesterday. It's not because the movie is so great that it's worth watching over and over but because some of my grade school friends haven't seen it yet and even though I'm done with it, I still wanted to spend time with them. Soooooooo yeah, that's I willingly indulged to watch it again.

No regrets though, it was fun. Especially Chebby, my nuggets, she was kicking and hyperventilating inside the movie house and every time Edward's on screen (which is almost ALL the time), I cover her mouth just to prevent her from screaming out loud. She's that INTO him. Hahaha!

It wasn't like the time I watched it Shang where almost everyone where making funny swooning sounds, Powerplant's crowd were a little serious. Chebby should've been with me in Shang, her screaming and kicking wouldn't attract attention. LOL.

Anyway, I wanted to share everything here but I'm a little too tired to go into details. I just noticed that my calendar for mid to late November was packed. No wonder my body's exhausted! Plus, I still have a lunch date with my former "bosses" in Edsa Shang tomorrow and my doctor's appointment after. G'Luck!

And since none of my friends have uploaded any pictures aside from my nuggets, here's the best photo we got:

top left-right: joyce & jow
bottom left-right: me (black), cherry, ara

LOL. Feet! Sorry, I wasn't able to take a group photo using my camera. Had I known I'll have to wait days.......Haha!

Will upload as soon as the others post the photos.

BTW, thanks Joyce! For......you know already. :)

It was fun. Till next movie!
