Welcome me on Nothing Charming!
Hi and hello to everyone who has been visiting this blog even with the lack of updates recently. Thank you for being so patient and still dropping cards on here. I appreciate it.
I would like to inform you all that I have combined Mara's Personal Bubble and this blog, Mara's Appetite to WordPress with my own domain. I know. It has been long overdue and I have been planning about it since last year. I finally pushed through with the move and the domain earlier this year and now it's ready!
I am so excited although I still have to make some changes and modifications on my old posts from my 2 old blogs to the new one. You know, make it more SEO-friendly and hopefully it will do good (and even better) like this blog.
I hope you still support me on my new and (still working on it) improved blog.
Please welcome me and change all the links on your blog roll to: Nothing Charming
See you all there!

Mara's Appetite...
... is now up and running! Please, please, please drop by:
I admit it's not COMPLETELY done yet. I am still not happy with my template and I have yet to add Entrecard. But I decided to already start publishing before I end up just pushing and pushing its "launch" date until I get too lazy again and procrastinate instead. With my new blog already published, I have a motivation to get my ass up and look for a more presentable template, fix my Adsense, put up Entrecard and attract new traffic. I would appreciate it if you could help me with these things especially the latter.
Also, please feel free to Follow and Subscribe to Mara's Appetite's feed. Let me know what you think about my first entry (just the first entry, I know my overall theme/blog is not as beautiful as we expected but I'm trying here). :)
I almost didn't push through with the publishing tonight because I was too pre-occupied watching the late former President Cory Aquino's Funeral since this morning and my brain's too sad to function, I said "okay, tomorrow" but then I remembered I have a dinner date and then on Friday I have a lunch date and on Saturday another dinner night out, so I finally said "okay, don't put until tomorrow what you CAN do today." And there I went, I started adding my new blog on Adgitize, and putting up one Adsense ad.
I can't wait to hear from all of you and to see you there!
Hugs!

My Badge is Ready!
Yey to Lady Java! My badge for my new blog is ready and before this week ends I am sure that I would be able to publish entries on it. I cannot wait! You guys will be seeing this new badge on EC and Adgitize as I will be advertising and promoting it. I hope you'll support and visit it as you have in this blog.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Mara's Personal Bubble will still be here by the way, so you guys have yet to get tired of all my rants and raves about almost everything. :)
Hugs!

My so-called office hours.
Since I am so excited to publish my new blog, I decided that it's about time I fix my schedule for all my online activities. I want everything to be organized, on a time table and this schedule is to be followed no matter what (oh, self-discipline come to my rescue!). If it is to be delayed for a few hours, the schedule would still be followed even in a later time.

Yes, I am this serious about my blogging especially since this is the only job that I've got so far and I better make use of my time very wisely instead of just wasting hours and hours of just browsing around the web looking at nothing in particular. I have already spent months procrastinating, delaying doing anything productive and now I just couldn't take it anymore. I realized that maybe this is a sign that has been knocking for so long on my door that I just kept on ignoring: blogging, writing. I won't be stagnant anymore. I am going to use my time wisely and treat this as I would on a real-life job.
Although the schedule that I wrote down is still open for changes until my new blog is already up and running.
Just for a quick view, here's the tentative schedule that I made:

Of course, included in the 3 hours alloted time for EC and Adgitize is reading entries and leaving comments. I know 3 hours won't be enough and I will be making adjustments as soon as I get to feel having to maintain 2 blogs. I just need to have a schedule, even if it's tentative, to follow so as not to miss and mix things up and then I would end up doing basically nothing.
Oooh can you feel my excitement already? I don't even know exactly why I am this excited. It's not like my new blog would be unique or grandiose. Hmmm. Maybe because it would stick to a subject and it's still something that I love. I hope to see all of you there soon!
Hugs!

JULY Top Droppers.
Where has July gone? I didn't even notice the 31 days are over. Sheeesh. And now it's time for another entry for my my top droppers for the previous month. Again, I would like to thank everyone for the continuous visits, messages and comments especially since I was sick for a good number of days last July what with my being hospitalized and all. Thank you for the sweet well-wishes. I really really appreciate all of them!
By the way, I am currently working on my new blog. I have a URL already although I haven't published any posts yet since I am waiting for my badge and all those other stuff (Adgitize, EC/CMF, Adsense, etc.) that I will be putting on. Hopefully, within this week or next it will already be up and running. I hope to see you all in my new blog too. :)
Cheers!

Try and try and try and try again.
Good news and bad news.
Good news:
I got the result of my application right after my initial interview. Less time worrying whether or not I qualify for the second interview.
Bad news:
I didn't make it. Together with the 5 other applicants that I was with. It was pretty cool though cos I was the second oldest in the group. We were 7. Only 2 qualified for the second interview. And they both applied for part-time positions only. So I guess that's why.
*Sigh* I guess I'll just have to try and try and try again. I really hoped this was it.
On another note, I would like to thank everyone especially Ate Bingkee and Eric for their suggestions. I guess I would go for Blogger in the meantime and then later on buy/transfer (what's the right term?) my own domain/hosting stuff when my new blog is all settled. Good idea? Right now, I think I'm all for Blogger or TypePad. They suit my techie knowledge. LOL. :)
August is just around the corner and I still have to search for someone who can make me a badge and/or theme for free, link and ad space will be available in return. Hmmm. Some articles for my new blog are already saved in my documents. I just have to put up the blog site. Badge, layout, and then finally create the blog itself. I'm almost ready to fly.
Yey!

Blogger, TypePad, WordPress?
I am still stuck thinking where to sign up for my new blog. I was browsing through TypePad and Wordpress a while ago and I learned that TypePad has a monthly fee although they do offer a 14-day free trial and WordPress doesn't support monetizing your blog. Now, Blogger is winning over the others since I already have one blog signed up under it it would be a lot easier and convenient if I just create a new one. What do you think?
Or let me know if I just misunderstood things with TypePad and WordPress. I'm serious. I will be starting another blog. Funny that I postponed my initial subject of "movies, tv, music" into a food photo blog. This is final. :) I want to know by tomorrow and sign-up within this week so that my new blog will be up and running by first week of August. I am still open to messages from anyone who would want to help me with my button/badge and blog layout.
Thank you!

Nadal withdraws from 2009 Wimbledon and a few other updates.
I am not a big fan of Rafael Nadal but it's bad that he won't be defending his Wimbledon title this year. World number 1, Rafael Nadal, withdrew from Wimbledon Friday night after the Men's draw earlier that day.
"He was diagnosed with tendinitis in both quadriceps tendons as well as a small amount of fluid on the kneecaps."
I think it's sad. Again, it would be more glorious if he would lose and Roger Federer would re-claim his Wimbledon title after losing it to Nadal last year. But health should come first and Nadal has decided to get better first.
Moving on, I previously joined a contest over at Gems by Jerri, my first time to enter any contest since the start of my blogging, and just today I joined my second one over at Tired Mama, she will be giving away an iPod Shuffle and a $20 iTunes gift card. One entry if you comment on her post (that is if you have honestly did some exercise for the day), another entry if you Twit about it and another one if you sign up to the website indicated on her post. Since I don't have a Twitter account, the next best thing is posting about her contest here. I don't know if this will count but I hope it will. If not, I still have one very hopeful entry praying to be drawn as the winner. :) PLEASE LET ME BE THE WINNER. IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! IT WOULD BE NICE TO RECEIVE A GIFT. :) :) :)
Aside from the Wimbledon update that I have and another contest that I have joined, today is going to be another eventful day for me. I will be out tonight to celebrate one of my dear friend's birthday. Well, his birthday is actually tomorrow but he'll be having his party tonight. His birthday has become quite a tradition every year and this one is especially meaningful because this is the first that all of us are college graduates, meaning this party would be sort of like a reunion too. Exciting! More exciting is that I am tasked to invite ALL our friends to attend. As if I didn't see that one coming. Them guys always ask me to either be the events coordinator or the treasurer or most of the time even both. At least they have something to say about me in my eulogy! It's a little exhausting because he only told me about it yesterday afternoon while I was blog hopping and trying to finalize my ideas for my new blog.
By the way, I am still open for suggestions about my new blog. Wordpress or Typepad? How to monetize? Theme? Title? Button/Badge? La La La La La La La.
